Many states are starting to slowly reopen and West Virginia is easing back into things. May 21st marked the day that most State Parks start to open up. They have adopted stringent cleaning regulations as suggested from the CDC and are implementing precautions across the board. Here's the details on what to expect.
May 21st
Campgrounds reopened to in-state residents with reservations only!!
State Park bathrooms and stores reopened, including equipment rentals.
The Boardwalks at Blackwater and Coopers Rocks as well as the trails at Beartown are open.
Restaurants remain CLOSED! Plan accordingly!
May 26th
Resorts, lodges, cabins, cottages, museums and nature centers will start to resume operations.
West Virginia has 45 unique and individual State Parks. From historical sites to great hiking and biking and always an amazing view! There's sure to be something for the entire family!
If you check out the map of the parks, you'll see many are close in proximity, and if you plan accordingly you can visit multiple parks in one trip.

Our family has a list of all the state parks, wildlife areas, hatcheries, national parks/ forests e.t.c and mark off each with the date as we visit. Our goal is to visit each one. Many of our favorites we visit over and over.
